   Guildford Walking Club

Boost your heart rate, improve your flexibility and relieve stress with our low-impact walking program in a safe, climate controlled environment.  Our walking club will help you stay active throughout the year, with warm-up exercises, group walks and cool-downs;  all led by a certified fitness instructor.  So what are you waiting for?  Discover mall walking at Guildford Town Centre and get active!

Who is the program for?
Adults of any age and fitness level.

What format is the class?
Sessions are 50 minutes long and include a warm-up, a walking session and a cool-down.  Participants determine how much effort to put into their warm-up and cool-down, and walk at their own pace.

Where and when are the classes?
Classes are held at 7:30am and 8:30am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday of each week.  Walkers meet on the upper level near Sears.  Early class participants, please enter through the Bank of Montreal entrance, as not all doors are unlocked at this time. 

Who is the instructor?
A Certified Health and Fitness Consultant and Registered Personal Trainer, your instructor is highly experienced and able to assist all participants with their specific needs ensuring you get the most out of your workout.

What do I bring?
Wear clothing that is comfortable and appropriate for exercise.  Proper walking shoes are recommended.  Assistance in this area is available from your instructor and the many footwear retailers in Guildford Town Centre. 

Where and when do I register?
Your first class is free. If you would like to join the Guildford Walking Club, register and pay a drop-in fee of $1.50 or purchase a 10-session passport for just $10.  On completion of your first passport, you will receive a free walking club t-shirt.  There are many social events that the walkers may join such as breakfast events, picnics, monthly breakfasts and themed walks such as the Easter Bonnet Walk, Halloweeen Howl and Jingle Bell Walk.

Every Wednesday at 9:30am, the Shop n' Stroll workout program turns your stroller into a portable fitness machine and takes baby along for the ride.  These free classes consist of  power walking combined with body sculpting exercises using exercise tubing, your stroller and the shopping centre environment.  The last 15 minutes is devoted to socializing for mom/dads and songs for baby.  Yes, Dads are welcome too!

  Guildford Community Volunteer Patrol

The Guildford Community Volunteer Patrol office is located on site at Guildford Town Centre.  Working with Concord Security, all volunteers patrol in pairs and are equipped with two-way radios and highly visible uniforms. Our goal is to raise awareness in the Guildford area which will result in making it a safer place for our families to work.

Volunteers wanted!  If you love to walk or bike and have energy and enthusiasm to spare, you are just the kind of person we need.  Volunteers are asked to commit approximately 4 hours a week and must be 19 years or older.  All members of the Volunteer Patrol will be provided CAN Bike Level 2 training free of charge.  For more information, contact Kam Sall, Program Manager, at 604-589-5600 or crime9@telus.net.
