Marketing Assistant

Full Time

Position: Marketing Assistant
Type: Contract (term ending on December 30, 2022)

The Marketing Assistant will assist the Marketing Manager with day-to-day activities.

Main duties include:
· Assist the Marketing Manager with the record keeping;
· Ensure programs/campaigns are tracked, recorded and updated for reports;
· Assist with the optimization of digital marketing campaigns and promotions, working with outside vendors and internal teams;
· Actively contribute to the execution of marketing activities with a strong emphasis on special event execution and planning;
· Schedule and organize meetings, including RSVPs, food and collateral;
· Prepare and distribute work orders regarding set-up of events, and ensure instructions are clear and understood by all departments; follow-up work orders with face to face meetings as much as possible;
· Save and file all marketing samples including final advertising creative, ads, press releases, publicity, photos, etc.;
· Assist the Marketing Manager with writing and proofing tenant related communication; ensure memos are distributed in a timely manner, as scheduled.
· Monitor all social media platforms and report any posts or comments of concern to Marketing Manager;

Skills & Knowledge to be Learned
The Marketing Assistant will learn the entire scope of Shopping Centre marketing initiatives. Specifically:
· Obtaining the knowledge of designing an annual Marketing plan and budget that utilizes analysis and current research to set objectives, formulate strategies and tactics that link back to the property's Strategic Business plan;
· Understanding media campaigns and the proper execution of the program of media purchases, including providing input on creative;
· Gain a better understanding of electronic communication by working on the centre's website to ensure that the design and content of the websites are current and correct;
· Understanding the importance of consumer research by utilizing current Market research to improve the Marketing program and positioning of the shopping centre;
· Budget Control: Understanding the Accounting program by monitoring budget expenditures so that the annual Marketing budget is self-liquidating at fiscal year-end.
· The Marketing Assistant will gain knowledge of all aspects related to marketing functions within the Shopping Centre industry that can be easily applied to marketing positions in any organization.

Key requirements
· Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field (in progress or completed)
· 3-5 years in retail, marketing, advertising or comparable business experience
· Skills and knowledge
· Applicants must have the ability oversee the implementation of various programs with minimal supervision;
· Strong knowledge and experience with Social Media is an asset;
· Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint programs are an asset;
· Must be highly motivated, a team player who can actively contribute to the centre's overall objectives;
· Must be able to work in a fast paced environment;
· Must be able to work the occasional evening or weekend for events or other marketing related activities
